I am pretty sure most of the B450 series boards are already shipping with the updated Bios for the Ryzen 2000 series. Even if this were a 3000 series processor like the 3600 or the 3700x etc, it would still work with a B450 motherboard as long as you get one with an updated Bios, or have an older chip that you can use temporarily to update the boards Bios. A320 boards will only support up to the Ryzen 2000 series due to limitations on the boards. B450 and X470 should, assuming your Bios is updated properly for each, support all current AM4 socket chips, so that's all the Ryzen from the 1600x up to the 3950x AND the A series like the A6000 etc. X570 will not support the A series, but should support all the other Ryzen chips. (not 100% sure first gen Ryzen may or may not work I can't remember off the top of my head) **Q: What kind of frames would i be expected with this and a xfx rx 580?** A: I get up to 160 - 200 fps on Doom 2016 at nightmare settings with out my frame limiter on. That is the same GPU I have. **Q: Is this better than the 2600** A: No the ryzen 5 2600 has far better performance and i higher core count, if you look up benchmarks they will tell you this. **Q: Whats the best motherboard to use?** A: This processor should work well with any AM4 socketed motherboard, but since it's designed as an APU, I chose to mount it in a mini-itx chassis with the ASRock Fatality B450 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard. So far, I haven't had any issues with that setup.
