A websearch of the bulb part number you have shown reveals a number of manufacturers of 6 watt fluorescent tubes, some called black lights.  It appears that customers have given some of these very poor ratings.  If you are replacing the bulbs in a Dynatrap XL part number DT2000XL I am certain that this 32050 6 watt bulbs will replace your bulbs and work well for the 6 months recommended duration under common operating conditions.   The 32050s are not labeled with the number on the bulbs you asked about .  This being said, it appears that the Hoont device uses a larger wattage bulb (10 watts) for the models I find.  This DynaTrap bulb may not be compatible and work properly with your Hoont device.  You may need to do some more homework here.

Question 2

I have a dt2000xl but the bulbs measure 8 1/4" long (not including prongs).  is the "product dimensions" for packaging, and not the bulb itself?

I wouldn't follow the Amazon description of the dimensions. I can assure you that this set of bulbs is definitely the one you need for the DT2000XL!

Question 3

Replaced both light bulbs, only one works, tried the bulb on the other side and it worked, what now? the unit is working with one one lit light bulb

This happened to me. A day later neither bulbs are working. After some quick research, and as I feared, I think the ballast is shot. It seems that there is a part number for a replacement ballast, but nobody seems able to get their hands on one. Several users have supposedly had success replacing the ballast with an off-the-shelf third party fluorescent ballast, which is what I’m going to try doing myself, although I suppose I could call dynatrap since my unit is less than a year old…

Only one bulb works and on is bad.

These bulb have tricky installations as you must remove the screwed in covers to access. Make sure it's disconnect from Power and if you have had it for any length of time, I suggest you inspect the spring bars that power the bulbs carefully. They collect moisture and those bars corrode. If you see any corrosion, I recommend you use a piece of 200 grit sand paper to clean. I doubt your new bulb(s) are bad. Those spring bar connectors are your most likely culprit.
