Bought a brand new Samsung tv and the remote went out right away. Bought this and it connected to my tv right out the box and has been working for over a year now thank you

Worked with our old samsung plasma TV. However buttons can be a little difficult to press for seniors as presses don't seem to register well unless you press it down hard enough. I like the backlighting as it makes it easier to see in a dark room.

Worked right out of packaging, no programming required on my end.

Update: Arrow buttons stopped working with no damage to remote, all other buttons that previously worked still do other than these, disappointed. Pros: Very nice feel, buttons are easy and just large enough, my last remote they were so small I was always hitting wrong buttons. Lights up good. Put batteries in, pointed at my Samsung Curve and it immediately worked. I love this! Cons: Don't expect any of the actual Netflix, Amazon, web etc. buttons to bring you to those apps, they do not work nor do the the a,b,c,d, but, (whoever knows what these are for anyway??! If you do, please share!) I really, really bought this remote because of that feature so I could easily access those apps or I'd give it more stars as that is very misleading. You can still manually choose your app, but if you accidentally click on the wrong app than what you wanted by mistake, this remote didn't allow for me to press return to exit as my other remotes have, I had to continue to enter that wrong app then go to their exit app button. All in all, I would suggest purchasing this for a basic remote as it is large enough to manage buttons and they are easy to push and react nicely and the light is a great function, but don't buy for the direct app button functions as you'll be disappointed. As always, directions would be helpful should programming assist with the non working buttons but were not included.

It did work without any need to program. That was nice. I don't know why, but sometimes it just doesn't work correctly. If I get the old remote, and press the button for whatever it was that wasn't happening, everything suddenly works, and at that point I can go back to using this one. A small irritation, for a small time. I like the fact that this one lights up so you can find the key you want to push. It looks good, the size is OK, and it is lightweight. I'm happy with the price too.

Simple to use, no setup at all, priced right and works - Great! I love this Remote! When I opened the box and saw 'just the remote' - no instructions - nothing! - I was upset. I had to use my own batteries! he unit comes with No batteries. So far - so bad! Then I put in batteries - and pressed 'On' Expecting disappointment as I hadn't gone through the usual 'setup' to select the correct TV etc. as most universal remotes do. But this one - just worked! I don't know how - but just by putting the batteries in - it worked with my TV! I bought it mostly for the Backlit feature - which love. Being able to clearly see the keys is big help esp. when watching at night. I remote works perfectly. I do like it very much and would absolutely recommend it.
