T-72 Tank Company (TSBX01) Includes five plastic T-72 tanks, one plastic tank commander sprue and three Unit Cards. Following the classic Soviet doctrine, the T-72 was easy to manufacture, simple to use, robust, and reliable. It mounted a powerful 125mm gun with an autoloader to replace the loader, producing a compact and relatively light tank with a significantly greater level of armour protection, powered by a reliable, tried and tested engine. Review: Great Models! Nice Tank! - Battlefront’s T-72 tank company is a very good set of models! The components are well made and the models go together easily. So far, I’ve only built this tank and a T-64 so I don’t have a huge amount to compare the T-72 kit too. I can say, however, that the T-72 is a little tougher to build than the T-64. It’s in no way hard—perhaps a 3.5 on a scale of 1-10. But a couple pieces, like the fuel drums and side skirts, are tricky to mount. I really wish the fuel drums were a single piece instead of two. If you are following the assembly instructions on the Team Yankee website, I would recommend mounting the search light before the smoke dischargers. I had my starboard set of dischargers slightly out of place and had to remove and remount them before I could attach the search light. All in all, though, the T-72 is a great model. I’m happy with the results of my first build (see photo). In terms of the Team Yankee game, the T-72 is standard Russian fare. It has a front armor of 16 and a main gun anti-tank rating of 22. You can get a company of 5 for 22 points. I’ve been going back and forth about whether it's better to field the T-64 or T-72. Really, I can go either way, but I've generally decided that the T-64 is the better choice.
