Do these lean towards the softer side or the firmer side?

These are firm but over time can wear thin. My mom used them but had a serious bite that would just clamp down hard, so there's some context. But it took several months to work through one.

So how do you use it? My 3 year old just bites it?

I bought these for my mom to use. She wasn't able to stabilize her jaw when opened but when she bit down (on the back teeth), it stabilized her jaw, allowing her to speak with more control. She took speech therapy & they work! Just need practice using them but the difference can be significant depending on your situation

My mom suffered from a stroke & it caused slurred speech. We began using these blocks because she has an uncontrollable jaw anytime she opens her mouth. Now that she has a placeholder for her jaw, she can focus on vocals and tongue movement & placement. Gonna take a while but the blocks make a huge difference!
