**Q: is the red tip taken off when using or remain on?**
A: The red tip is just a protective cover, please remove before using the thermometer.

**Q: Where is this made and where does it ship from?+**
A: Sorry but I am unable to answer this question.  We purchased it a while back and there's nothing stating point of origin on the front or back of the thermometer.

**Q: I need this to make yogurt. i noticed that it has a big tm on it.  silly question, is that where it needs to be for the right temp (110°)**
A: I'm not sure what the TW stands for, maybe a logo.  You need to bring milk up to 180 degrees F (the smaller inside numbers), which is 83 degrees C (the larger numbers on the dial).  Then cool it to 115 degrees F, or 46 degrees C. and add the yogurt starter.

A: I take it off I believe it's more of a safety thing with the tip

I like this termometer, because it is very easy to use due to a clear white screen in Fahrenheit and Celsius degrees. The best part is the handle that can be used while the milk is warming up; just clip it to the pot used for boiling the milk, while the hands are free to do other work. I am confident in recommending this product.

It works but the clamping mechanism is not holding it straight up as I want. Noticed after buying that the box reads +/- 4 celsius accuracy. Not terrible not good.
