I bought this one for a buddy and it fits better in the hand (subjective). The weight and length of this blade is great for skinning animals if you're a hunter. My Rat-5 skinned an adult moose no problem not needing a sharpening like my Gerber 3" blade 3 years prior. The Rat-5 is better for making kindling in the bush but that's really it. I love this blade for the light weight and length of blade for fine work. Does it also come with a teklok?** A: It's nylon fabric with a plastic sheath inside to protect the nylon. **Q: What steel is it .** A: Listed as 1095 carbon steel **Q: Is this a full tang knife?** A: Yea it is. **Q: Why is it saying this-blade material: 1095 carbon steel when it is not true?** A: I don't know exactly how to answer your question. I checked other places (bladehq, ebay, etc.) and get mixed answers. Most say 1095 and some say 1075. Not sure which is correct. Either way, I really like mine and don't think there is a huge difference either way. I do recommend this knife. Worth every penny.... the sheath is horrible so I made my own! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by C***R on 24 December 2025* The Ontario Knife Company Randall’s Adventure Training 3, or the OKC RAT-3 is the best bang for your buck fixed blade in the survival and tool knife market. Micarta handles, 1095 carbon steel, full tang, and MITUSA! This is one of the most utilitarian and practical fixed blades on the market. Pleasantly comfortable in hand, not oversized so you can carry it most places, tough as hell, and pretty easy to get a good edge on. If you can destroy this knife, kudos. The plastic sheath leaves some desire (the nylon is even worse IMO) but did come with a tek-lok adapter when I purchased mine (may not anymore). It’s the perfect size knife for scout carry (the eyelets are the perfect width for a standard duty belt and some 550 cord) or thrown in a go bag. Buy with confidence.
