When I did my Sunbrella bimini I made sure the fabric got good and wetted, to the point where it was damp on the back side. Also one thing I now know, the product is only as good as the fabric it is going on. My bimini now initially repels water like a ducks back (since applying the 303), but with heavy enough rain, eventually it wets and soaks through. With bright sunshine above, I can see light coming through my bimini, it has been out in the sun for 7 years non stop. Overall still pleased with the results of the 303. I applied with a foam roller since it was a large area, with hard to reach spots. **Q: Is this safe on a felt hat?** A: This stuff seems pretty chemically smelling and I'm not sure it would be good to put it on clothes that are in contact with your body. I suggest going to the company's website and reading all the details, ingredients, warnings, etc. **Q: I have outdoor fabric furniture, pillows, cusions ect...can I use this to protect?** A: The information on the container states that it is for vinyl, rubber, fiberglass, tires, plastic, Tonneau Covers and leathers. Thanks for the question. 303 Fabric Guard may work well for this application as long as only the top side of the vest is treated. Be sure to apply the product and let it dry (cure) outside only.
