Q: How thick is the paper? Are they somewhat translucent or are they opaque?

The paper is not translucent, but I feel it is thin. It is fine for writing on I think, but you may want a bit thicker paper for art work projects. It is so economical, you can just use it to practice on, as many have suggested here.

Q: Can this paper be used with a gel plate using acrylic paint?

Yes.... BUT only if you let it dry completely on the plate. I teach courses on gel plate with acrylics and have done a lot of experimenting with this paper. It's very finicky and fragile when wet. If you let it dry all the way on the plate, which can take anywhere from 15 min to over an hour depending on other ambient factors, you can pull it off without ripping and sticking to the plate.

Q: Does it have lines or any other markers on it? Does it holds printer ink well?

It does not have lines or any other marks on it. I have no idea if it holds printer ink, we used it for a calligraphy class! Good luck!
