Is this flashlight compatible with a 5000mah battery

It comes with a proprietary 21700 4,000 mAh, labeled NL2140, which has unusual positive & negative ends. However, under Battery Options, it states, "The P10i is only compatable with NITECORE 21700 i Series batteries, but under Technical Data, it gives specifications for a 5,000 mAh Li-ion battery. So I would say that it is compatible with a Nitecore 5,000 mAh Battery if they make one, due to the above cited specifications. Personally, as long as the size is the same, I don't believe a flashlight would know the difference. The second annular ring on the positive end inside the light, might preclude use of non-proprietary batteries.

Can an external charger be used to charge this battery?

Yes, that's the way I generally charge my battery, unless I'm on a trip. It's a very large battery & takes quite a while to charge it, so I try to charge it before it gets less than half depleted.

Is it water resistant?

Absolutely. This thing is a tank. The only complaint I have is that it gets hot after using it for a while. The ability to charge it is great saves lots of money in batteries

Can the flashlight be used while charging?

No. When connected to USB power to charge, the light will turn off.
