A: Roughly 2500 strikes. It all depends on the pressure applied  during  the strikes.

**Q: Can i light my gas stove with this?**
A: Hello! The Zippo Mag Strike is meant to be used outdoors to light campfires.

**Q: Can I use this while swimming?**
A: Hello! To create more spark, we recommend using while dry.

**Q: Will this item leak if not stored upright? I bought a bunch a few years ago (from a different manufacturer), and they all leaked! Not for pockets.**
A: The mag strike contains no liquid, it's just a spark rod, so no there's nothing to leak regardless how it's stored.

Good emergency fire starter. I prefer using my knife over the built in striker but it works well. Solid bit of kit to have in your camping or survival gear.
