Reef Zooplankton contains a natural source of carotenoids which provides essential proteins as well as a more bioavailable source of pigmentation when compared to other natural sources and synthetic pigments. Carotenoids provide the extra benefit of antioxidant activity. It is blended to contain proper ratio of fatty acids, carbohydrates, and proteins. Review: I do not have saltwater tanks, but I use Zoo Plankton for my African Cichlids. If you feed your fish pellets, what I do is pour the amount of pellets you feed into a container. Put a capful of Zoo Plankton in with the pellets. Let the pellets soak up the liquid for 5 minutes and feed to your fish. There are alot of vitamins/nutrients that are added to your pellets now. The fish love this stuff. I want to use them for a Science experiment but they must be living.** A: No **Q: can i use these to consume phytoplankton in freshwater tank?** A: No. This is coral food. If to much is added it will cause high nutrients that will cause hair algue. Snails, hermit crabs & a sponge for plankton build up. Watch your hours of light & setting levels for the light.
