What's the weight limitation?

I've had mine for several months and have been very pleased and as far as weight I routinely carry around 40 pounds in it. Pretty durable bag so far. I use it daily with my job.

Are the pocket bottoms reinforced with leather or extra webbing so that tools do not poke thru or tear them?

No they are not , this bag is not very heavy duty . I was REALLY surprised At the flimsy quality of this bag it’s not very ridgid. I’ve been using the shorter model for about five years and was shocked by the difference

does the sides have ridged stays to keep them from bulging

The solid rigid handle would keep it from bulging.
