Review: Worked great even though I bought the wrong part. - I was trying to fix my brother-in-law's garage door opener and saw that the metal contacts on the limit switch were broken so I ordered the first on I saw, which was wrong. He has a screw-type opener, not sure if that matters, but the "Liftmaster 41D4671 Screw Drive Limit Switch" looks like the correct part. REGARDLESS, these things are practically identical and what you likely really need is the metal contacts... DON'T TRY TO REMOVE THE METAL CONTACTS. Everything on this switch is very simply designed, if you ordered the wrong part, check out my ugly diagram for information regarding how to use parts from your bad switch. The difference between these two switches is the gear on the end of the center shaft; you can't simply remove that gear from the 'wrong' part, but you can simply pop the shaft assembly loose. Chances are, you also need the metal contact piece as well, don't try to remove that metal from its plastic housing, just unscrew it from the shaft and then screw it back on to the old shaft and pop it back into place. Lemme tell you why these break! The blade connectors that fit onto this switch are VERY LOOSE! They fall off and your first instinct is to try to tweak those screws on the side of your opener; now you've tweaked the screws too much and the metal contacts on the center shaft have snapped off. Use pliers to crimp down on the blade connector so that it actually sits tight on the switch and doesn't fall off, also watch how the switch travels and consider not running the wire through the plastic loops on the upper-left and lower-right of the unit or else the wire may get pulled loose (again!).
Review: Good product - I needed a new limit switch because the old one had a stripped gear and would no longer turn reliably when the opener was moving. It is easy to install - just click out the old one, slide the wires off, click in the new one and reconnect the wires. Be a little careful sliding the wire connectors back onto the metal tabs, They are thin and bend easily. Make sure you remember where each wire goes. You can take a picture before you start if you think you might mess it up but mine were color-coded and easy to remember. Also, unplug your opener before you start so that someone doesn't try to open it while you are working on it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Garage door goes down but will come back up. What can cause this problem?**
A: If you have a door sensor for the garage door, you may have something blocking it on the front end of the garage. Clear any obstructions blocking the sensor eyes. Otherwise, run the garage door while observing the limit switch assembly. You will notice that the two outer white screws can adjust the range of the garage door. If you run the garage door and observe these screws from the inside of the garage, you should be able to see what is causing the garage to come back up. If both of these solutions fail, look at your garage door manual for troubleshooting the door. There may be another adjustment that you need to try.

**Q: What are the color wires go what colors go were**
A: there are directions on how to connect the wires in the book that comes with it and the white is the ground with the red being the HOT. there should be something on the inside of the cover with instructions.

**Q: Door works perfectly w/ this part. Except lights on the garage door opener won't shut off any more. Is this simply coincidental? Any ideas to fix?**
A: I would make sure your ground wires are all connected to either the new part and/or the circuit board still. Make sure the leads have no corrosion too. Other than that, it may be coincidental.

**Q: I have a 1993 model 41a4252-7 opener. Will this part fit?**
A: This limiting switch is pretty basic. If you have a Craftsman and it matches what you have now it should fit.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect fit! Worked well
*by R***S on August 8, 2021*

The item was an exact replacement for my Chamberlain HD200D. It arrived on time and was just as described. Finding out WHY my garage door opener wasn't working was much more difficult than ordering and replacing this particular part. For what is it, it seems a touch expensive, but it was much less than a new opener or calling someone to fix it.
