Jackson Deerfield 981CW Porcelain Toggle Wall Plate

I really love these wall plates. Jackson Deerfield 981CW Porcelain Toggle Wall Plate I've installed them in two houses now. They're simple to install with just a slotted screwdriver. Of minor concern, it's a bit difficult to get the switch out of the package, but after that they're easy to install and look great. One caution: Be careful when tightening the screws - these wall plates are porcelain and can break. I replaced a lot of wall plates, and here and there I tightened a screw just a hair too much and heard a click - which scared me because I thought I'd broken the plate (thankfully I hadn't - but if I'd have continued tightening I surely would have.) So try not to overtighten the screws. Also, I had hoped to install insulating outlet gaskets behind these and I couldn't get them to fit because the wall plates are too thick. I figured I could do without, as the porcelain is pretty thick and does a good job of covering any gaps through which heat might escape.

These switch-plates are well-crafted and attractive. Unfortunately, the description lists them at 3" in width and they are closer to 2.75". This made for some close-calls on some of my outlets. Also, several arrived cracked... probably because there was absolutely no packing material to protect them.

Adds elegance to a common light switch. Is any eye catching piece of furniture. Very happy with the purchase and will enjoy it for years to come.

Look FABULOUS! Just be careful not to over-tighten the screws, these will crack. Once you feel resistance, stop. Use your hand to push it tight to the wall and then screw it in, don't just rely on forcing it down by the action of the screw on the plate. If you go too far, it will crack.
