Best sights you can put on a tutkey gun in my opinion! And come in earlier than expected! Great product!

I have been hunting turkey since 1988, and since I am getting old I needed some upgrade on my gun. This sight system is great. It mounts easily and is universal for all vented rib sizes. It mounted on my mossberg 835 very well and it improved my ability to take a good shot immensely. It aims true on my gun and I bagged a nice bird this morning with a 30 yrd shot right on the money.

I got the Dead Ringer Beard Buster Shotgun Sight this afternoon and sat down to put it on my Winchester SXP. It says on the package that it fits most 1/4" wide ribs. I have one that's not included in "most", but it just took a trip to the hardware store to fix that. I bought four tiny metric bolts (4-40 x 3/8), came back and put it together. The new screws are stainless instead of black. Windage is adjusted by loosening the screws and moving the rear sight around, then tightening them, hopefully in the right place. There are no reference marks on the sight to help know how much you have moved it. The elevation is adjusted by loosening the four bolts and moving it backward and forward on the rib or taking it off for larger adjustments and putting it back on at a different place. THE NEXT DAY: When I tried to sight it in, the POI was about 6" high at 20 yards. Since the rear peep was all the way back at the time and it's the taller of the two, all I could do in the way of adjustment was move the rear sight forward which raises the POI. I could have looked around to see if I could find a taller front sight but decided against it. The rear peep wasn't that great in some light situations. Maybe because my eyes are old. Maybe it would have been easier to see if it was moved forward a bunch. Many people like then it seems. So I bought a low profile, green, fiber optic bead for the front and painted a 1/4" wide fluorescent orange stripe on the receiver and up the back sloping part of the rib. It works perfectly, it's easy to see and it's fast. POA is perfect as Winchester advertises with this gun.

I bought this sight for my Browning Auto 5. I went with the Dead Ringer because it's all machined aluminum and is secured with screws, not the cheap tape other shotgun sights are using. This thing is rugged. It was a simple install. The product fits very secure and the windage and elevation adjustments (although VERY rudimentary) worked well enough to fix my point of imact issues with this gun. Don't waste your time with the cheap plastic sights that use tape to adhere to the gun. Go with the Beard Buster and save yourself the headache. I also like that the rear sight is easily removable. This is my all purpose shotgun, so I can remove the rear sight if I want to bust clays or go bird hunting. The front post is bright and will stay on this gun as long as I own it. Really great, well made, and rugged sight system. 5 stars.

This looks great once installed on my Mossberg 500. The original rear sight bent up (poor design) but I shouldn’t have this problem with the Beard Buster. I still have to pattern it but I think it will be great. Design seems solid. For the install, I made it way more complicated than it should have been. It should be a very short 5-10 min install. I spent a while trying to figure out where the screws would screw into. They’re already in the plate! I needed to unscrew the screws from the plate and then it installs easily. Screws on top through the sight, plate on the bottom. I hope that prevents someone from doing the exact same thing I did. For the front sight, I wasn’t sure if a screw opening was under the original sight. Fortunately it is there already so that took no time at all. Just needed to find the screw that fit properly. I’m very happy with the sight and I look forward to taking the gun out first chance I get.

Functionality is there. Application, there. The Mossberg Silver Reserve Eventide 28ga I intended to put this on has too narrow of a gap between barrel & rib. I ended up throwing it on the 940 as a back up to my dot. Took the oversized bead from the 940, and put it on the eventide. Pacified my want to upgrade the eventide without the addition of any electronics. Would’ve loved to have been able to apply this product to the Eventide straight out of the box. I am considering purchasing another kit, and handing it off to my gunsmith to fashion a replacement bottom plate.

Lined up on some targets. Looking good. Seems like good quality. Have had problems with other sights coming loose but the bolts and stuff seem to be of better quality. Have had it on my gun, now have bought another one for my sons gun.

directions were easy to follow. It looks a little funny on the shotgun, but it gets the job done. Good quality. Fits on a mossberg 500.
