I haven't been able to use this for painting the house yet because cold weather coming on,However,I have used this to stop rust,It make my old car wheels look new,I put a little and a very little on a paper towel and wiped the area I was going to spray 2stage auto paint and the paint job came out GREAT and I am a lousy spray painter usually. I didn't get to paint the outside cellar door this year and I figured what the heck,sprayed it with just penetrol (I didn't even use that much to get it done either) and the fungus on the wood disappeared. It started to rain not long after spraying the wood,and the water rolled off the wood like a waxed car or water off a ducks back. There was some wood rotting just on the edges of the door,sprayed it and it toughened up,I caulked aound the area and I think it;s going to be JUST FINE this winter. Also used it on some weathered wood on the porch (Straight Penetrol) same effect. Waterproofed and oily (wood) it resists water now, It killed fungus on some wood (which causes rot) The wood really seems to like it! I also used this on the car rubberized painted bumper where the clear coat was peeling off,and that part was dull. After some Penetrol on that now all you can see is a slight line where the clear coat ended,and the penetroled dull plastic looked as good as the clear coat part. . This sinks into rust and prevents it from advancing. I cleared up a headlight with this,but I have to do more experimentation. I betcha this would prevent peeling clear coat on a car and tried it on a small spot where it was peeling in a hard to get at area. Waiting to see if it seals it. Can't rewccomend that aspect yet,but this stuff it INCREDIBLE.I bought this initially because I heard it coats rust and keeps it from advancing. It does. I will buy more of this later but I have used the whole gallon so far. What is it? Whatever it is it's GREAT! Do a search on the things people have used this for. It does more than stated. I usually don't write reviews but am soooo thrilled with the results for all the crazy things I tried this on that nothing else could do. I also had my mechanic spray my brake lines to protect them,and had him spray it inside the frame and other areas under the car. This stuff is KEWL! Definitely will buy again!

Hard for me to find this locally (in Ohio) The absolute best sealer for any oil based paint project. I used it to seal a rusty old standing seam roof, under my new aluminum paint, and it worked so good. Ask them to pack it well, my cans arrived dented - it's really heavy
