Will a TI nspire cx cas fit with the slide cover on?

I bought it for a TI-84 CE Plus and it fits perfectly with the cover on. I cannot speak to any other item fitting inside. The best part about it is that the TI-84 only takes up one half, the other half has a netted area to hold the charger, cable, etc.

Is this really 2.5 inches thick, that seems like too much?

Yes, but it is hollow on the inside. I store cord, charger, and calculator in it. Everything fits perfectly.
