Bought this one and love it. Beautiful photos for inspiration leading into a family trip to italy.

Gorgeous photos, high quality book. Got it as a gift for my grandma and she loves it!

The book provides a collection of great color photos of Mediterranean, Aegean, and Adriatic ocean-view hotels in France (8), Italy (13), Spain (4), Croatia (1), Greece (10), Turkey (3), and Morocco (1). In my opinion, the most pleasing hotels were in the French Riviera. I especially admired the Hotel Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France amd the Monte-Carlo Beach in Cap-Martin, also in France. The Hotel Splendido in Porotfino, Italy and the Grand Hotel Maramare in Santa Margarita, Italy also have their attractions. Most of the hotels described are small, out-of-way and somewhat isolated specialty places that perhaps the ultra-rich know about and visit. In my opinion, many of them have nothing to offer architecturally but they have incredible ocean views. I never cease to be amazed that architects and interior decorators can wax lyrically over how bare concrete walls, raw unpolished stone, and wicker furniture can be admired for their “wondrous simplicity and harmony.”

Nice places mostly unaffordable even to upper middle class travellers

This is not worth the exhorbitant price. The pictures look about 20 years old and are not high res. Very disappointed.

In einem Buch mit diesem Titel erwarte zumindest ich sehr exklusive und besondere Hotels, die mit Design oder Angebot sichtbar aus der Masse der Unterkünfte herausragen. Aber in vielen Teilen des Buches sind für mich viel zu normale Hotels oder Pensionen, die ich nicht als spektakulär oder „secret“ bezeichnen würde. Auch kommen mir teilweise die Bilder sehr alt vor, so dass man sich fragen muss, wie aktuell das alles noch ist.
