I have been a rockhound for several years. My grandson enjoys coming over and handling and looking at my collection. He shows particular interest in the few meteorites I have. A true collector never breaks up their collection so I decided he is old enough for his own star to the hobby. This bit of meteorite is perfect as a first step to the hobby. It is large than I expected and the info card that comes with it is great. He can tell his friends all about his "space rock". The small trinket box is a very nice touch and might help him keep track of it. I could not be happier with the quality and price of this product!!!!!

It's just what I was hoping for. I was afraid it would be tiny or cheesy, or that I couldn't get it out of the package, but fears weren't realized. My grandson will love it! I'm glad it came with a description card as well. :) Highly recommend.

I bought this meteorite chunk for my best friend, who loves dinosaurs and anything "space." It was a HUGE hit, and I mean that in every way. This is the biggest meteorite chunk I was able to find on Amazon, and for a very, very reasonable price considering the size of the meteorite, and what others are charging for similar (or smaller!) meteorites. This meteorite was NOT magnetic, as many are. It arrived in a timely fashion, packaged well for giving. You can call it "huge" by comparison to other available meteorite chunks, but it fits cozily in your hand, like the size of a worry stone. This thing feels amazing in your hand -- not just the weight of it, but there's this sense you're touching something that's been beyond this planet. Well, maybe I'm being fanciful, but it is kind of magical to contemplate. :)

I got this for my husband, and he loves having a piece of a Super Nova, as he says. The meteorite that we received is similar to the one shown in the listing and every bit as impressive. The treasure chest they include is hilarious, and only suitable if gifting this to a kid (we will give chest to our grandchild). Interesting point, this fragment is from an impact site in Argentina, it came down only 4,000 years ago. There is a Smartcar sized piece that marks the area it came down in (found it in Wikipedia.). This little space lump is pretty heft for its size. I think it's well worth the price paid. :)

I’m a nerd so I thought of owning a meteorite was too good to pass up. Defiantly a great gift idea for a significant other. Only complaint is the size, however; defiantly on par with the price.
