Would this be too easy for a 9 year old to build?

Hi - my 11 year old had no problems with this. We got him this as regular lego was a doddle for him. If your son also finds regular lego a doddle the Technic is a good upgrade - it's not difficult but a little more challenging.

Does model this have working suspension?

It does not have any suspension due to the pull back feature

Is this set too young for a 9 year old to build?

I would not have thought so. Technic starts with the slightly older kids usually, because of the complexity. I for example am 38 (REAL big kid), and have many bigger sets, although this was for my 3yo to play with, but not build. Im sure A nine year old could build all kinds with the set. If they have other technic, the pull back motor is great for other builds and I have built an LEGO RC buggy with the same wheels and tyres and they are great. So lots of future potential if they "grow out of it" Hope that helps

How long does this take to build?

We can back to it over a few days - depends on your levels of concentration, really. I would think it can be done in a few hours if you really go for it.

A lot of fun for my son… and me

Great toy! I'd say it's a little complicated for a five-year-old, but with my help, he was able to build it in an evening and we both had a lot of fun. I'd recommend it, but maybe for older children — I'd say six or seven and up would be ideal.
