I used this power jack in a prototype project and it looks great. It grabs and holds the AC cord end well, and makes good electrical connection. Do not use a 45 watt soldering iron on it however, it melts, never to reform again. My bad.I will not use it with vintage electronics again. In my vocabulary, vintage electronics equals vacuum tube equipment.

This IEC Power Jack Chassis Mount module for bringing 120 vac into your project will give your project a power feed with out a switch or fuse. I prefer combined modules to eliminate several components that would need to be mounted, this one mounts through a squared out hole and can be soldered or used with spade slide on connections.

Used these to add detachable power cords to my old stereo power amps. Just be leery of some of the low cost/quality power cords offered here on Amazon. I recently had one that had the Live & Neutral wires reversed. NOT a good thing.

Used this to replace the static power cord in my Peavey 5150 and it works like a champ. Now I don't have to wrap the power cable up and tuck it in the handle, just pull the cord out and throw it in my gear bag.

Seems to be of sufficient quality to endure the multiple connections and disconnections required by my project. By using this type of socket I was able to recycle some old appliance cords which I had saved rather than purcheas new ones.I would recommend this product to a friend.

You already know the dimensions for the hole or you are replacing an IEC. It’s a well made piece from a great seller.

for the price this is ruggedly built. I would have preferred something closer to quality in high-end audio equipment, but this works well.
