Great cheap upgrade to my stock speakers! Mid Bass is more defined now.

I wanted a really rich, full sound in my car without having the terrible boom of double 12"s in the trunk. I went that route when I was in high school, but I prefer a more well-rounded sound now.My setup consists of an Alpine CDA-9835 head unit (wired directly to the battery), running in 3-way mode sending a total of 52W RMS to each component set of the Polk DB6501 speakers I have installed in my front doors. The rear doors house these Pyramid W64's, and all the doors have custom MDF baffles installed. I'm powering these with a Blaupunkt EMA 255.I turned on the amp's high pass filter to only allow frequencies above 80kHz to the speakers. The speaker's specs state they'll go down to 60Hz, but I'm fine sending only 80Hz and above to them. I set the low-pass on my head unit for the W64's at 200Hz. These speakers effectively play 80-200Hz in my setup, in the rear doors. The Polk DB6501 front stage plays from 150Hz to 20kHz. This keeps the majority of the sound stage in front, while getting the 'feel' of the low frequencies to fill the car.These speakers really fit the bill. They sound very clear, and for the price I paid, I really didn't expect them to sound this good. They provide a nice, clean low end without blowing my ears out. Live concert music sounds absolutely fantastic on this system, and these W64's really seal that deal, with their glorious resonance.Don't buy some name brand hundred dollar speakers. Save your money and get these hidden gems.EDIT: I've had these speakers for about three months now, and I have to say, they sound AMAZINGLY good after they're broken in! I turned up the bass boost on the amp that's running these speakers, and these two 6.5" door speakers seriously sound like I'm running a 10" subwoofer in the hatch of my car. The awesome part? I lose no cargo space, yet I still have this fantastic sound.These things absolutely pound in my doors, but it's not so overbearing that it upsets my stomach (like loud 12" subs do). Live music has an incredibly rich low end, and it continues to amaze me that I got these speakers so cheap. The only thing I'm worried about now is blowing apart the MDF spacers I built for them!

I've been very impressed with these pyramid speakers. I used a pair to replace some old bookshelf 6.5in speakers. Added a ribbon tweeter and 2 way crossover and polly fill, which makes these book shelf sound incredible. Comparable to my infinity reference bookshelf 6.5in silk dome tweeter 2 ways. They might not be able to handle as much power as the infinitys but so mid level movies and music in a small room, sounds perfect!I also ran a couple of sets in my car with crossovers, tweeters powered with an amp! Worked very well and loud for 4 years. I play them hard with a lot of metal and rock. Never had an issue with them blowing or popping at all like other reviewers claimed.

Replacement woofer for sound dynamic CM100 speakers! Great job plus rubber edge verses foam which fails after 10 years was a plus! Low end frequency a bit high but not that bad for application.

I bought this speaker to replace the subwoofer in the premium JBL sound system in my SUV. This speaker works and sounds just as good as the original stock speaker. It's really hard to tell...but I think it sounds even better than the original stock speaker. I was amazed at how affordable it was. It even came with speaker wires. This speaker looks nice too with the letters PRO in the center...much better than the plain-looking stock speaker. I would recommend this product.
