Cork Pops Black 6.5 Inch Original Wine Bottle Opener

I did extensive research trying to find a cleaner and easier way to open wine than the traditional corkscrew. I looked at many variations including hand pump ones. It seemed there was no well reviewed one's out there which made me skeptical. I originally avoided CO2 variations as I felt that constantly buying cartridges would be annoying if not environmentally unfriendly. And, after reading horror stories of bursting wine bottles, I was afraid to even try any type. However, this product has greatly changed my opinion. For starters, the needle hole placement is virtually clog free as it is located on the side of the needle not the tip. The process of opening the wine is at the push of a button. The refills are advertised to last around 50 openings. I've only used it for 5 thus far but I could see it lasting that long. Nonetheless I bought extra cartridges just in case. I open the wine over the sink just in case with a scrunched face but so far every bottle has opened cleanly. Presentation alone makes me love this product. The storage case helps it stay protected in the wine drawer while also looking fancy. Granted it is just a plastic case but still. I would recommend being careful with the needle while inserting it in the cork as it's pretty skinny for good reason.

Quite literally the best purchase ever. I did have doubts it would work, but holy cow… Standard wine cork openers are annoying and bulky now that I have one of these. This is perfect to travel with and the case is nice to keep! Just remember to take off the aluminum foil sealing first otherwise the cork won’t pop up. (You can use the pointy end to cut off the seal) I’ve bought these as gifts and everyone loves them!!

Great gift for wine drinkers. Very easy to open a bottle of wine. I like to give gifts that I like to use myself.

Got this for my mom. She loves it. The cork popper itself is quiet but when the cork pops…it pops.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought this about a year ago. It works well and is fun when it pops. Sounds dumb but it is entertaining and makes people in the room laugh. I would recommend keeping a spare cartridge on hand since there's no warning when it will run out of gas and then is hard to pull it out of the cork. Otherwise, I like it and gave one to my friend.

Bond, James Bond. I don't know what type of wine opener the famous British Secret Service agent carries. But I think this one might qualify. Not only does it do an excellent job of opening the wine. But it does have a certain coolness factor like Mr. Bond himself. I can only imagine that when being attacked by an agent from SPECTRE, James would pull this opener from the breast pocket of his perfectly tailored suit jacket. Then as the agent tightens a steel wire around Mr. Bond's neck, James manages to regain the upper hand when he stabs and injects the agent with a specially modified version of the Cork Pops (made by "Q") containing a poisonous gas. He then......Oh wait. I'm afraid I'm getting carried away. This is supposed to be a review about a wine opener. Sorry. PROS: The Cork Pops opens a bottle quickly. And it almost never leaves any cork in the wine. CONS: When opening a bottle, it "pops" about half as loud as a bottle of champagne. You may or may not consider this a negative factor. If you don't get the needle straight up and down (or you push it into the cork at an angle), you might bend the needle. I did that once, but I was able to straighten it back out. Make sure you have some extra cartridges on-hand. Once the cartridge is empty, you're not going to open anything. Unlike a regular cork screw, you'll always have the expense of purchasing extra cartridges. SUMMARY: Some might consider this product a novelty. But I've used Cork Pops for over twenty years. It's my favorite way to open a bottle of wine. And I've given away several as gifts. Besides, if it's good enough for James Bond. It's good enough for me.

I was introduced to the Cork Pops by my brother-in-law who gifted one to me. I loved it so much, I bought one as a gift for someone else. Doesn’t leave any cork pieces in the bottle like standard openers either.

I love this bottle opener. It's so quick and easy to remove a cork. I have even used it on old bottles with corks that had gone a bit brittle and it pushes them out cleanly no trouble. I will be using this to open all my cork wine bottles from now on. Highly recommend.
