I bought this to wax the hemp used on bagpipe joints. The case makes it so easy to use. I also sew and have used these in the past with the same result. The wax coats the thread well, and the case makes it an easy task.

Works great to stop thread from twisting, tangling, and knotting.

Previously when I bought this product from other suppliers, it was actually just wax not beeswax. This is really beeswax & it makes a big difference when keeping thread from tangling when hand sewing.

Beeswax is beeswax but the holder is what makes this great. You don’t have to touch the sticky wax, and the grooves keep your thread in place . Great for silk thread. Easy to store bc the wax won’t touch other items.

The packaging it comes in for use makes it super easy to get the end of my thread. However I tend to be more of a silicone kind of girl and I figured this might be an easy alternative at a better price. The price is fair but I would still say the silicone has less product remain on the thread and tends to be easier to use. Would I buy this again yes is it useful and does the job it says it’s going to do yes I would not cover all my floss but works great for the ends. Any discoloring you might see will come off with warm water at this is a wax is will always act differently.
