I bought this for my eight year-old son and with some instruction and help he is able to use it by himself and has a ton of fun with it. It will also keep an adult occupied. For those that are looking and having a hard time finding what extra battery to buy, then here is the scoop. The boat comes stock with a 2500 mAh 3S 11.1v Lipo battery with an XT60 connector. If you are looking for extra batteries, then my testing came to this conclusion. You can fit an Hoovo 5200 mAh 3S 11.1v Lipo in the boat and still wrap the velcro battery strap about the battery. On the stock battery, if you are not full throttle the whole time, you will probably get 10 minutes out of it maybe more. What I would recommend for extra batteries is that you get the Hoovo 2200 mAh 3S 11.1v battery and just have more of them on hand for longer playing time. After our outing with the stock battery and 5200 mAh battery, which amounted to about 30 minutes or more of playing around, including 3 different rollovers, we had only a drop or two of water in the motor compartment when sealed with Dielectric grease. Overall, I would say that you will not be disappointed with how it comes out of the box and with a couple extra batteries you or your kids can have loads of fun. Review: I am 55 and love this.
