Didn't have any probs drinking tap water in Cuba because all the everything is filtered out.●works chin muscles! Hello defined jawline!Cons:● not leak-proof. I had it in a shoulder bag and it did not stay upright and leaked through the top gasket and got my book wet. Leaks anytime it's flat. This would be avoided by hanging the bottle from a bag with a carabiner, but I was in cute city attire, not in backpacker mode.●no mechanism to pour filtered water (but I also didn't want to spend $$$ for a fancier water filter bottle) so I still got bottled water to make my coffee.● because it filters all the everything, you need to be mindful of replacing minerals to your body. Easy tip- add extra sea salt or Himalayan salt to your food. At the very least, the bottle made clean water from the hotel's questionable taps and we avoided the substantial expense of the hotel's bottled water. After that trip, we took it on another eight-country jaunt, and again, no problems.As others have noted, it takes a bit of pull to get water through the filter. Don't expect this to work like a bottle with just a straw and no filter--if you want clean water to drink, you have to work for it a little.
