Tried it, and it fit snugly around a 1/2" diameter drill bit. It is springy and can also be fit around diameters slightly larger than 1/2" perhaps up to 9/16" in diameter. **Q: can you use this on a motorcycle to hide wires going from switches** A: I won't use it for motor cycle. I m using it for my PC wires and wires behind my tv which is a mess. It works fine for this purpose. But for motorcycle, there are two problems that I expect would occur. First, it doesn't snug the wires tight, so with vibration, it would move. You ll still have to wrap it with a tape. It is stiff enough,though, not to fold on its own. The other proble, I have not tested it for the heat, it it touches the heated engine. This braided slip-on material worked perfectly. Cuts easily to length with scissors (sealed the cut ends with a low flame). Snaps on easily and stays in place but can be quite easily removed. Retains its cylindrical shape. Very flexible and will bend to the existing cable curve nicely. Looks good. I will also be using this at some under hood and trunk locations for dressing up the wiring and providing additional abrasion protection. Plus I see possible applications above and beneath my computer desk and around my TV and sound system. Will be considering more of this product in different diameters for other applications. The TechFlex website offers excellent info on how this and related products can be used.
