The Uniden DC1 is first Camera that I have owned that is easy to set up. Have owned many other brands and they have one common issue they at any time will lock up and go stupid when you think your little protector is working its had a small stroke!! This Camera with 32G card installed gives around 4 hours of vids. Have many DC1s and none have ever locked up or went nuts. Their set for Loop recording and their left on 24/7. Nice feature is they default to record with power applied. You cycle power its internal battery does a orderly power down, then it powers back up and starts recording. So finally a Cheap Camera that works. Uniden needs to make a 256G version, add GPS add mini HDMI connector for an external recorder.

Piece of junk. First one died a month after having it, replacement just died as well. Screen/Device locks up and does not function at all. Update. I am now on my 4th unit, Uniden has sent a different model this time, this model constantly says 'no sd card'. Unreliable. Went to pull video from it today and there are no files and it wants me to format the sd card. I should note I also have a uniden home security camera system that constantly locks up as well. Had to replace it with a different companies product. DONT BUY UNIDEN....

For the price honestly this camera is the best. I sometimes leave it in direct sunlight with an outside temperature of 97F and it is apperantly resistant to high heat exposure. The video quality is great and will capture good detail, this dash cam has become part of my vehicle, I gotta have it always. Would buy another if it ever malfunctions but at the moment I have owned it for almost 4 months and works like a champ. I once bought a Cobra dashcam before and it cost me about $189. The first day I tried it and left it in direct sunlight, I noticed the screen cover on the display coming off. This is why I fell in love with this Uniden camera, you won't regret the price and the quality it offers.

Love the camera and how easy it is to install and use. This is actually my second purchase of this product. I had to buy a second product because the power cord cracked and the wires frayed and eventually failed. The cord works fine if you just leave it always plugged in. I was unplugging it a lot, wrapping it up, and sticking it in the glove box when not in use. This caused the power cable to crack after a few weeks. The cord is OK if you just leave it plugged in all the time.

Reading the reviews I was surprised to see so wide each way as far as good and bad reviews. I bought this dash cam and so far I'm pretty happy with it. Was actually thinking of buying another one for other car. Either way, my camera is great, records good, no issues that I've seen, in hot florida sun and nothing wrong. My impala has a always hot outlet and I've forgot to unplug it a couple times during the day. Recorded everything in its view, no issues. So, mine was a 5 star super awesome pimp dash cam. Hope everyone else gets a good one too.

This has been such a bad experience that all probably never buy anything again with the name Uniden on it! Everything from freezing up, to white screen only, to the power on button no longer working, to not powering on, to recording a few seconds before shutting down. I love technology but from the beginning I've felt like I bought technology from the 80s, big on promises but just can't deliver. There are some amazing techno things out there...(this ain't it!)

The pictures from the device are great. Have not had any issues with really needing the battery since is always plugged in. Angle of view could be wider to pick up more on the sides. It may be a setting I haven't found but seems to only record about the last three hours. May need to get larger storage in order to review a whole days worth of driving.

easy to hook up and setup

I bought this for my husband for christmas- he just went to install it in his vehicle and yhere is no mount or usb cable in the box. The box was sealed and wrapped- pretty disappointed- he can’t even use it now.

Easy to use

We bought this 2 months ago and all of a sudden screen shows only sand storm. Very frustrating. We had similar one which worked for 2 years with occasional unwanted hiccups. No recommendation here.
