A great emitter, just not as bright as I'd hoped
At 430lm I wasn't expecting to knock the sun out of the sky or anything when I decided to upgrade my old 1990s AA maglites that have been kicking around the house for decades. It'd have been nice if it were closer to 500, though. All the same this bulb is a huge, huge improvement over the old incandescents. I don't regret the purchase for a second. It'd probably have been cheaper to just toss my old flashlights and buy new ones but I was loathe to create more unneeded waste. Installation was a snap in all but one of my lights and that one was not the bulb's fault. You can learn from me, though! Pro tip: don't leave a pair of cells in an old maglite for over a decade. They ain't coming out ever again no matter how much you hammer on them or try to dissolve the crust.

Much brighter than the original incandescent bulb
Brighter and claims to draw less power. Still far behind many of the Chinese LED lights in lumens output but it does update a rugged and classic American flashlight to a more modern and now expected output level and two brightness levels. The LED includes a much longer installation screw on retainer as the top flange on the new LED bulb is much thicker than on the original incandescent bulbs. Basically the same light pattern as the incandescent version with the same beam center doughnut hole at wider beam pattern adjustments. This seems to be a matter of the incandescent Maglite reflector design. All of the incandescent Maglite LED upgrades have similar performance in this regard unless they include a different reflector but then you lose the beam adjustment capability. The current LED Maglites are better in this respect but do have a more limited beam adjustment range. The low power output is similar to the original incandescent output while the high output is much brighter. Hard to remember just how dim most older flashlights from 25+ years ago were typically.

Good but not the brightest.
A little disappointed in the brightness of this bulb. It is better than the original bulb but not as bright as some of the newer small flashlights. It does do the job.

Works very well
This 2 cell emitter is super easy to install and turns your old maglite into a very bright and useful light. Has a low and high, 2 brightness levels instead of 1 level. The beam is great and well defined when focused. This 2 cell emitter is brighter than the 3 cell I did at the same time. It's really white light and I think there lumen claim it spot on.

Finally, a good 3v LED thats a drop in replacement
After experiencing 3 differently branded led bulbs for 2D flashlights that ranged from mediocre to outright terrible(one was as advertised but only marginally brighter than stock, another was completely DOA, and the third "high output" one wasnt near as bright as advertised and then later died). This is the first Im actually happy with and is much MUCH brighter than the stock bulb while being a simple drop in replacement. In low mode its slightly brighter than the stock bulb in my 3 cell/4.5v maglight, while the high mode absolutely blows the stock and other bulbs out of the water. Spend the extra 8-10$ and get this, its worth it. My only complaint is that the focus ability is hampered in part due to the bulb being taller, but this is a common problem with many led replacements

Bright as day… I can see again!
So much brighter than the old bulb that came with my mag light. I don’t remember it being so dumb but when I used it the first time in years the other night I could barely see. Thinking it was the batteries I exchanged those, but it made no difference. Once I installed this LED, it was bright as day.
