Earth Mama Organic Raspberry Leaf Tea Bags for Labor Tonic and Menstrual Support, 16-Count (3-Pack)

Not too flavorful but easy to drink. I went into labor naturally the day before due date, so maybe it helped.

1. Strengthens (tones) the uterus It helps the muscles of your uterus work more efficiently — like giving them a gentle workout. This can make contractions more coordinated when labor does start. 2. May shorten labor — especially the pushing stage Some studies show women who drink it have a slightly shorter second stage of labor. 3. May reduce the chance of assisted delivery A few studies found lower rates of forceps or vacuum use. 4. Helps with postpartum recovery The uterine toning effect can help your uterus clamp down better after birth. 5. Can help with swelling and circulation It has mild anti-inflammatory properties.

I started raspberry leaf tea at 32 weeks, originally with what I found at Walmart which was traditional medicinals brand. Walmart didn’t have any in stock so I bought this. First of all, the packaging for each tea bag is WAY too small - you have to be incredibly careful when opening that you don’t tear the tea bag. Second, the string for the tea bags is like hooked onto the bag so you have to pull it off to unhook it and then pull the rest of the string out of the bag which caused me to loose one of the strings - the strings are also incredibly fragile. Third, after brewing and allowing to steep the pot was filled with a weird oily film. This same thing happened with the other brand as well. I just find it strange given it’s supposed to be organic/all natural and makes me question the validity of that claim. The only reason I didn’t go for brands that I trusted may have actually been organic (because I’ll always question these bigger brands/boxed typed stuff) is because they weren’t in individual tea bags and there seemed to be some quality control issues (random stuff found in the tea). With the previous tea it was very clear how many ounces of tea each bag made so I was using 8 bags for a gallon pitcher - these bags didn’t say ounces just that it was one cup which SHOULD mean 16 ounces but you never know - so I used 8 tea bags for my gallon pitcher again (just to be safe). I put the tea, half of a cup of sugar, and 7 scoops of strawberry lemonade mix and then fill the rest with water the same as with the previous brand and noticed that this pitcher was much more tea colored than pink from the lemonade so I’m assuming either these bags are for more than 8 ounces of tea each or these tea bags are somehow stronger tea. Either way, taste is the same in my little mixture so as long as they all serve the same purpose and the oil film isn’t some kind of carcinogen then I’m happy. ***editing to add that I’m not sure how helpful it was for labor. I was in labor from about 4:30AM until 9:59PM when she was born but I was only pushing about an hour. For what it’s worth I went completely unmedicated as well.

Tea is good but packaging kind of sucks. The first bag I opened was crimped in the seal and ripped the tea bag. Had tea all over the counter. The 2nd bag was missing the string so it was just a floating bag. Not deal breakers, just not expected.

Not sure if this stuff works or not, taste is okay at best - but that is all raspberry leaf tea. I My labor was induced so it was more intense anyways, I managed this one without pain meds or epi, like I’ve done my other 3. Really didn’t notice much of a difference. I have continued to drink after baby, in hopes it helps to get things back to normal.
