This fit perfect on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma. I ordered a TRD shift knob and it came with a tightening nut that I did not want to use because it wouldn’t have looked so clean. This thing screwed right into the shift rod and allowed me tighten the shift knob without using the provided nut. Please see photo for it. The item appears to be made of metal and seems very durable. Installation was easy. Removed the old boot plastic ring retainer and wrapped the end of boot around the indent on this adapter (as seen in photos) and then used a small zip tie to secure it.
