Question 1

are these mats slippery?

Accepted Answer

Our PRO™ and PROlite™ mats offer unmatched support and stability. The PRO Series mats are made from high density premium PVC, making them the most durable mat on the market, lasting ten times longer than any other mat. The PRO have a closed-cell surface, so this mat will not absorb any moisture, such as sweat. This hygienic and durable design allows us to offer the Lifetime Guarantee. However, it does mean that if you are using your mat in a heated environment, have a sweaty practice, or if your palms are sweaty, you will need to pair your mat with a towel to absorb the moisture. The towel works to absorb any sweat, preventing slipping, and they are easy to clean - just throw the towel in the wash when you are done!

Question 2

What is the best type/brand salt and brush to use for "breaking in" this mat?

Accepted Answer

The best way to break in your mat is to practice, practice, practice on it. In addition to frequent practice, you can also try our salt break-in method an average of 3-5 times. Instructions are as follows:

Top your mat with sea salt* and let it sit for 24 hours. After 24 hours, wipe the salt off using a dry or damp washcloth. Once you have removed the salt, we recommend laying your mat out in the sun for 3-6 hours.

*sea salt is preferred, however, any coarse salt is fine

Question 3

How’s this mat for cushion and grip? I’m almost 6foot tall.. is it really extra long?

Accepted Answer

Yes very long at 85 inches in length, probably longest mat you’ll find on the market. Thick and heavy- like 10 pounds seriously! Grip is comparable to other yoga mats out there.

Question 4

Is the black mat 71 or 85 inches??? Size seems to vary by color!

Accepted Answer

The Manduka Black Mat PRO comes in the standard 71" length, as well as the extra long 85" length. When you select each color, you can then choose the available length.
