Prevents infections, smells good, English Mastiffs cooperate with cleanings.
One ear infection on my youngest English Mastiff resulted in hot spots on his cheek. I didn't realize it was due to an ear infection, but when it spread down his neck overnight we went straight to the vet. We were to take him home and shave his face before using the topical prescriptions. My 250lb husband tried to hold my 200 pound dog while I shaved his irritated face. That didn't work! We ended up having to take our baby back to have him sedated, shaved, and ears cleaned while they had him down. You could imagine that cost! (Although experiencing a drunken mastiff added some comedic value - if only he weren't feeling bad.) The vet advised we stop using a plastic water bowl (without me telling him we had a plastic bowl) and be sure to wash his ears weekly. I've been using this ever since and no more ear issues! I chose it because I'm familiar with the properties of the ingredients in the wash. I clean their ears weekly and let them dry on their own overnight. If the next day I can rub their ears and hear squish, I use the ear dry. I'm blessed that I found this first try! I highly recommend it, and a stainless water dish.

It really is the "BEST" ear wash - EVER!
This is the best ear wash I've ever used (and I've used a lot....). I have a 10 year old lab who used to be prone to ear infections (like a lot of labs are - those floppy ears don't get a lot of air flow), we fought them from the time he was a pup. I discovered this stuff at my workplace (I work at a doggie daycare/boarding facility) - it's the stuff my boss had bought for us to use in our groom room (we don't do full grooming, but we have the necessities just in case). I was first amazed at how good this stuff smelled - and then I used it on a few nasty eared labs and basset hounds and I couldn't believe how well it worked! I had to get myself some for my lab and my Rottie mix. I began by cleaning out my lab's ears a couple times a week (about what we normally did to keep them from getting too infected), and then I only needed to do so once a week, and now I only clean them when they get baths (once a month) unless I notice him scratching or digging at his ears (which is extremely rare). This has been the only thing to keep his ears clean (and that's including prescribed cleaners from the vet). I even sold my aunt on it for her Chessies who are prone to dirty ears as well and she's seen a difference, too. She bought it after they had changed their label - but it's the same stuff. If you have a dog that gets ear infections or dirty ears easily, buy this stuff - you won't be disappointed. Use it weekly at first and then you'll probably be able to wean it down to bi-monthly or even monthly use. I don't know what it is, but when it cleans them it helps prevent future build-up - and I love it (no more stinky, gunky ears) and my lab loves it, too (no digging, irritation, or itching)! We've since bought others cleaners to use at work, but I always go for this stuff first. And a bottle this size lasts - I bought my first bottle in October 2009 and still have at least a quarter of a bottle left - and that's using it on 2 dogs at least once a month.

Vet’s Best Ear Relief Wash works well but …
Vet’s Best Ear Relief Wash works well but the replacement bottle did not have a spill proof sticker on the outside of the cap so it came undone and some product spilled out into the box ruining one corner of the box. Instead of sending back i’ll just use it. Please make sure to add an anti-spill sticker on the outside.

Good Earwash, my dog likes it!
My dog really likes this one. I fill it in a mini squeeze bottle where the drops come out at the top and this way he gets not too much too fast because he really prefers his daily ear drops over a less frequent ear wash and he has not had an infection for a long time. I guess an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. When I announce its time for ear drops, he is willing and ready, they must feel good to him. I have one more brand I also like but this one I think is his number one favorite and I like that it does not stain. I do not need the dry ear relief version for some reason, this alone does it as long as I give him a couple drops every night in each ear and massage his ears a bit, and he shakes them, he has long ears, mini poodle and used to get ear infection when I first adopted him some years back. As soon as I started the ear wash drops things immediately improved, it did not matter as much which brand I used as long as I do it daily. However there are some differences in the products like one stained his ears a bit, he is cream-colored so stains show easily and this one does not stain. Also the ingredients are agreeable as I had one that was supposed to be really good I think Zymox Ear Cleanser and he did not like it as much it is still good just not as liked by him so I got another one of this again to make him happy. Could be individually different from dog to dog but I think this is a good one for sure and the price was right. When I read the ingredients I liked them too, lots of natural ones. His ears smell good in a gentle way. We are both happy with this product.

Excellent product. Used this plus combo dry lotion and powder to heal my dog's ear.
This product really worked well for my dog. A couple of months ago, I noticed my dog was shaking his head, and scratching his ear until it got bloody. I tried a vinegar peroxide flush on his ear, and a whole bunch of wax washed out, and his ear was wet and raw and very smelly. I went on every two or three days with this type of flush, but his ear did not get any better. I then did some reading and saw this product, and decided to give it a try. I purchased this product, the combination dry ear lotion, and a dog ear powder. I noticed improvement after the first treatment. However, I still have to put the cone collar on the dog to prevent him from over scratching his ear to this day. After several months, I only have to use the three product treatment about once or at most twice a week. His ears are now flushed with a dilute warm water vinegar using a plastic bulb tip applicator several times, followed by the wash cleaner, dry lotion, and powder. I'm happy to report both his ears have a nice, healthy color, do not flush out loads of wax, and do not have any foul odor. The dog is happy, and I believe this combo has fixed up his ears without the expense of a vet. I'm very pleased with this product. It worked well for my dog, and it never irritated his ears. The product (s) have a nice clove smell that is pleasing as well. Strongly recommended.

Smell does get bothersome over time...
Based on fellow Amazon reviews, I bought this ear wash for my newly adopted dog. He was in desperate need of a bath and had a bad cold from the shelter, requiring antibiotics. A couple baths and weeks later, he still had a bad smell that didn't seem right despite the antibiotics helping the cold. Sure enough, his ears were infected. Overall, I agree with other reviewers about the product having a weird smell but works. Over time though with nearly daily use, the smell didn't go away enough - family and friends didn't want him near them - thought he was too smelly. I ended up using another vet product that a friend used for her dog - also available on Amazon but not all natural. He's a great dog - so cuddly and great with kids. It was too bad the product turned people off. This ear wash did help when I first started his treatments. I was able to clean up quite a bit of gunk that first time. Like other reviewers, the bottle I have is still good but has the old cap. I'll likely only use in an emergency if I run out of the other product.

So far, the best formula for my pup's ear infections
I bought this Vet's Best Ear Relief Wash in the summer of 2011 when my puppy was about 6 months. She is now 1 year and 4 months. After she got fixed and had a cone on her head for a couple of weeks, I saw the first signs of smelly, dark brown waxy build up in her ears. She was scratching like crazy (but couldn't really scratch b/c of that darn cone on her head) and I was very concerned. I tried ear cleaners from the vet but it did not help. I like sticking with natural products, I feel like it's the safest way to go and the body does not become resistant to it so you don't have to constantly up the dosage and strength. Anyways, after cleaning out her ears 2 days in the row with this ear relief wash, BAM! The smelly dark brown wax was not coming back at all and it made her ears smell really good! My puppy had no irritation to it at all. There was another time where she had a really BAD ear infection and she whined with bloody, scabby looking ears. I could tell she was suffering and it made me feel really sad too, I used this ear relief wash and she stayed so still like it was calming her pain and itchiness. I now use this regularly, once a week even if I don't see wax or an infection. It prevents any infections from occuring and is a great ear cleaner. I recommend this product to dog owners who want to get rid of their dog's constant ear infections or even to owners who just want a ear cleaner to keep their dogs healthy and happy. I highly recommend this product for puppies as well b/c it is so gentle.

Awesome! Love the scent.
Used it a couple of times already and so far I’m loving it. It’s very easy to use. Just add a few drops to your pet’s ear, place a cotton pad over the ear hole and massage the lower ear so the liquid can work on the whole inner ear. From there you can just use a cotton pad to wipe everything out.

Works wonders
My dog has an ear infection/brown discharge that smells funky, but after cleaning his ears with this, I’m seeing less of the brown discharge and the scent of the ear cleaner is overpowering the funky smell. He still scratches his ear from time to time but not as frequent as before.
