I'm using a #10-32 screw with a standard washer and found it easily adapted to my application. Slight deburring might be needed to remove some sharp corners, otherwise the form factor is good. So I'm attaching the knob to something with a smaller screw, but it can also be used with a stud on your part and tightened down, or used to hold something which can be easily released. Some of these that look the same tighten up once the bolt gets to the back of the handle so make sure which type you are buying.
