Previously, every trip to the bathroom was dreaded, yet I know avoiding the painful process would only make things harder (pun intended). However, after drinking a few surprisingly palatable glasses of this -- there's not really a taste, just a light 'earthiness' that's pretty much masked by the heaps of sugar they thankfully put in there -- I can say the trips became much more effortless, and especially painless in the hours following, which fellow chronic constipation sufferers will gladly explain, is when the hemorrhoids that you just irritated like to make you doubt the notion of ever sitting again. This is probably the easiest way to get a ton of fiber into your gut all at once. Yeah, maybe I should've done that in the first place with one of those silly "balanced diets", but I believed there's only three food groups you need to live: meat, diary, and multivitamins. Now I know better: it's important to get a stool softener in, too. With Metamucil, it's bye bye to vein-popping straining, no more praying to the gods to just take me now, and gone are the days of debating the benefit of a quick trip to the ER for surgery while seeing no other way this thing is going to get out of me on my own without it ripping me in two (hint: after a two hour long struggle, it did get out, and yes, it ripped).
