Postage Stamp Daron P-51D Mustang Die-Cast Model – 1:100 Scale WWII Long-Range Fighter Replica, Tuskegee Airmen Edition, Highly Detailed, 4” Length x 4.5” Wingspan, Adult Collectible Ages 14+

The detail of this plane is shocking. It actually seems bigger too. It is metal; therefore, it does have some weight to it but I have no complaints over weight. I really like the model and have it displayed on my desk. I thought it was interesting to have writing on the box that told a short story about the plane itself too.

I purchased this for a grandson for Christmas. While this is a great representation of the Daron P-51D Mustang, I am incredibly disappointed that the very first day, two propellers came off. Each day since, there seems to be another part that falls off and it doesn't seem to matter that he is being gentle with it. For $32 dollars, I would have thought it would not fall apart so easily. I would not suggest anyone buy this unless it is to sit on a shelf.

This was a great addition to my son's collection. Very well made. Very well detailed.

The F4F Wildcat was a carrier based fighter aircraft manufactured by Grumman during WW2 for the U.S Navy and other customers. The Wildcat was really the only U.S fighter available to the U.S Navy in the Pacific Theater as the Brewster Buffalo proved to be horribly inadequate and Buffaloes were replaced by Wildcats as they became available. However, the Wildcat was still slower than the Mitsubishi Zero by 13 mph,was less maneuverable than the Zero and had less range. However, the Wildcats ruggedness and tactics such as the Thach Weave leveled out the playing field and the Wildcat had a combined 6.9/1 claimed kill ratio for the war. Now to the model. The model is great and the paint job is wonderful. Note the red circle inside the roundel. This was later deleted from both the Navy's and the Army Air Forces for very obvious reasons. The prop does spin and the model comes with two drop tanks underneath the wings that cannot be removed. I have nothing else to say about this model other than that its money well spent.

Full disclaimer: I purchased this for my 4 year old as a toy, not to be displayed as a model. It completely fell apart within the first hour of coming out of the package with "gentle play." Meaning he just flew it around the room and practiced "landing" on the furniture - no throwing or dropping. All 4 individual propeller blades fell off, the nose cone fell off, the wings detached, the tanks that attached to the wings detached. I have a very hard time imagining that an adult who uses this as a display model wouldn't have accidentally caused this to fall apart as well. What a piece of junk and a complete disappointment.

This P-51 Mustang is Well Built Alloy Construction, Good Paint and Artwork the Scale at 1:100 is a Little Small in Overall Size. Would be Better if 1:72 size Scale. Look Good as a Display Piece.

Great finish and comes with a stand. Nice size. Spinning prop which is always a plus.
