With sprinklers running I'm measuring 85 PSI upstream and 45 immediately downstream of the filter. It drops to 25 PSI after filtering sediment for several days. Back flushing as designed partially restores pressure the first few times, but then the filter element requires removal and scrubbing. Mine is the 50 micron filter element. I am now shopping for a 500 micron (which will probably act like no filter at all on my super-fine sediment.) I have a high flow rate of about 10 GPM in a 3/4" PVC sprinkler pipe fed by canal water (non-culinary) - a very demanding situation likely to produce a high pressure drop. Still, this big drop is far too much to be acceptable. I would not recommend this filter unless you have a much slower flow rate. **Q: is the clear housing glass or plastic** A: High impact plastic, bpa free and weather proof. **Q: Is the brass lead free?
