Red Ledge Men's Thunderlight Parka Rain Jacket

I purchased this product because I owned one already but had dryed it in a clothes dryer by mistake and ruined the interior waterproofing. My first jacket, the identical model number, was waterproof as advertised. I wore the replacement jacket while on a trip to Europe and got caught in the rain. Within minutes, the water had seeped thru the fabric and started getting my shirt wet. I had to purchase a spray waterproofing liquid from a local store and respray my jacket in order to make it waterproof.Had it been waterproof as advertised, I would rate it 5 stars.

My favorite rain gear for backpacking. Light and compacts down well (well like good, not oil or water). My previous one lasted years so I trust this one will do the same. Thus far it has only been used in Yosemite (Half Dome) as a wind breaker and Carmel Beach for wave spray, but worked well in both instantaneous.

Bought this for our trip to Philmont, but only used during our practice hikes in Ohio. Wonderful product, though somewhat heavy.

When put in washer as instructed the jacket inside liner fell apart. I would get another but don't want a repeat of the 1st one.

Definitely Liked the "Five Star light Weight and Comfort." Unfortunately, as evident by this "Outdoor Enthusiast" self explanatory photo," there are "Defects with the "Original Owners" "Red Ledge Rainware Material or Manufacturing."We are sure "Red Ledge Rainware" has rectified the defect. Giving "Red Ledge Rainware" the "Benefit of the Doubt."

Poor quality with the inside coating peeling off within the year. No way to contact this company (phone or email is not listed on their website).

I received this as a gift 12 years ago. It has been a good rain jacket. It folds down inside the left front pocket into its own pouch. It looks good and works well. Over the years I have had to renew the waterproofing, but that's to be expected after a decade of service. When you pull the drawstring on the hood, it pushes the brim out which is nice to keep rain off your glasses.

I owned this jacket for several years and loved it - for what it is. It is a shell that is waterproof and breathable. It keeps you dry in a downpour and weighs next to nothing. It will not keep you warm; for warmth you need to put a sweater or fleece under it, but it does offer some protection against the wind. It packs into a tiny pouch, so it is great to take along on any trip that could get wet.I left mine on a bus in Greece and just ordered this identical model to replace it.
