Sennheiser vs Avantree - More Comfortable than Other TV Headphones
Ear phones that cup over your ears have nothing over these for TV watching. These have large pads that cover your ears entirely without cupping them. When leaning back on a couch cushion, they don't cup your ears and twist them causing external ear discomfort like other headphones. I have tested both types for watching TV, and the sound is identical. Perhaps if you are listening to high-fidelity music players there might be a difference. But for watching TV, these radio-wave headphones sound every bit as good as the blue-tooth variety that cup over your ears. Whats more, you can pair an unlimited number of headphones with a single base station. I returned my Avantree Ensemble Wireless Over-Ear Headphones to Amazon because these were so much easier to use. The Avantree headphones needed to go through a blue-tooth pairing cycle before every use, whereas the Sennheiser RS 135 On-Ear Wireless RF Headphones were instantly on, more comfortable and reliable.

The best for quality and signal
I’ve tried a number of wireless and Bluetooth units for tv. Nothing worked as well as this Sennheiser set. Great quality. External sound is blocked effectively. And I can still hear the audio 3 rooms away. Charging cradle is easy to use. I have 2 headsets and exchange them for charging. You do have to tune the headset to the frequency selected in the base. Only downside is the weight. However lighter units tend to have less quality and block less external sound.

Comfortable, good sound, easy setup
We had purchased a similar pair (RS 118) of wireless headphones for my mother-in-law in Germany, so I had some experience with this line of headphones. First off, the sound is really good. Clean highs, good bass, and the semi-open back doesn't block out all the ambient noise, although it's still difficult to carry on a real conversation with the headphones on. Second, the headset is very comfortable, although the cushion is uncomfortable if my hearing aid is still on. I like the fact that placing the headset back on the stand automatically recharges the batteries - no separate charging device or connection is needed. Third, setup is very easy, although I had some problems with a connection: we have all the sound running through a home entertainment receiver, with the TV connected via HDMI. The receiver had to be set to pass the audio through to the TV, instead of 'passing it through' internally only, and the only audio output connections were on the TV. The result was severe echo that could only be solved by resettting the audio delay for each input: cable, DVR, streaming, or DVD. Not good. In the end, I purchased an audio splitter that is capable of separating out the audio signal from the receiver before it gets to the TV. Works well, but it's yet another device in the mare's nest of wires behind the entertainment center. That said, none of this is Sennheiser's problem or fault. Bottom line: for the money, these wireless headphones can't be beat.

High quality, great stereo, highly recommend!
SO thankful that I don’t have to listen to games and other full blast TV. First set was a gift, and still worked perfectly after a few years but whereabouts unknown after a move. My husband loves sound quality and stereo. I can still hear tv on lower volume if I choose. These are VERY high quality German made and adapter for many different countries included. Easy set up charging base. Worth every penny Highly recommend.

Great wireless headphone with very good stereo effect
Very nice headphone! I use it mainly for my Yamaha hybrid piano. In addition to the freedom from cables, this headphone gives really nice stereo sound and corresponds with sound positions really well, clearly showing if I’m playing on the left hand side or right hand. It doesn’t have the lag as normal wireless headphones either. The down side is that it’s not very comfortable and presses on my ears too hard. Also you can hear a very weak electricity sound when playing.

Hissing noise that's impossible to get rid of. Awful product.
I've been using a pair of Sennheiser TR160 wireless headphones for a lot of years. The only reason I bought these is because mine were so old that the wiring at the plug started to fray and they lost power. I can't complain I've probably had them for 10 years. I loved my old ones. They sounded great and were very comfortable to wear. I never had any problems with them. So I bought these to replace them. As soon as I set them up and put them on my head, I heard a very loud hissing noise competing with the TV audio from the A/V receiver. I pulled the headphones off and noticed a "Tune" dial on the headphones. My previous Sennheiser headphones did not have to be tuned in. I messed with the tune dial and was able to get the hiss a little better but was never able to get it to go away. The sound was basically terrible and I can't figure out why I have to tune them in when that was not an issue with my old ones. Also, the size of the ear cups was noticeably smaller than my old ones. Whereas my old ones went completely around your ears and were super comfortable, these are smaller and sit on your ears. They basically flatten your ears. They were much less comfortable. Bottom line, I loved my old Sennheiser headphones but these are TERRIBLE. I just can't fathom how a product made today can be so much worse than a product that they made ten years ago. These are literally not useable. I packed them up and returned them immediately.

Not as good as an older model
This headphone is ok, but could use improvement. I have an older model of this headphone and liked it but it stopped working so got the same model as a replacement. The new model is not comfortable if you wear it for very long. The older model is much more comfortable. The recharging cradle is not reliable. If you don't have the headphones placed exactly right, the unit will stop recharging. The slightest vibration can cause the headphones to move enough so the charging stops. It would be nice to have some indication that the unit is fully charged. One annoying feature is that the transmitter shuts down after 5 minutes if there is no sound. When this happens, the headphones change to a static sound which is annoying if you fall asleep and wake up to static. Also when you first start using, it takes a few seconds for the headphones to wake up so you miss the first bits. Manufacturer says this is a power saving feature, but the transmitter is what shuts down and it is plugged in; but the headphones still emit the static and are battery operated so the power saving part is backwards.

Excellent sound quality.
Sound quality is excellent. Other reviewers complained of headphones easily getting out of tune and hearing static. I have not had this problem. They have been working excellently for me. My only complaint, and the reason for only 3 stars on comfort, is they come with on ear pads. I do not find them comfortable. Fortunately, I took another reviewer's recommendation and ordered "over ear" pads to fit them. Now they are exceptionally comfortable and I wear them for several hours at a time. I have even slept in them! Posting this 5 months after receiving the headphones: For someone hard of hearing this has been one of the best gifts to myself I probably have made. The sound is excellent, they seem durable, and have a long lasting charge. I can even wear them while taking my dogs out into the backyard and not miss any of the program. Have had no problems with them!

Good Solid Product
Bought this as a gift for the hubby. He loved it. The sound is good and the range where you can walk around is far. Hubby is impressed with it! The price is a bit steep but when its on sale, its reasonable compared to the other big names. The battery is good too.

Nice headphones
I got these to replace an old pair of Sennheiser headphones held together by tape for the last few years. These have a much nicer sound, and so far seem more resistant to interference. The charging cradle design makes charging them dead simple too. My only criticism is that the ear pads aren't cupped or even flat - they're slightly bulged, which makes them somewhat less comfortable than my old ones. Not a deal-breaker, though.

Great value wireless headphones
This is the second one of these I have purchased (I am still using the first pair). The headphones are comfortable to wear for hours and provide excellent sound. The manual tuning function is a bit odd since you have to tune it like you are tuning in a radio station, but once adjusted it works well. Battery life is excellent and the stand is brilliant as it recharges the headphones every time you return them to the stand.

Awesome headphones.
These things have amazing range. The only thing is if you leave them on with nothing playing, after about 10 minutes static will start to play because the main unit shuts down and stops sending a signal to the headphones so it defaults into a static. Which makes sense. Just don't be lazy and turn them off when not in use. also wouldn't mind them a little tighter but I just have a small head. Not their fault! haha
