Something very thin will bake much more quickly, so be sure to check it often. If you bake it at too high a temperature, or for too long, it will burn just like any baked good! Hope this helps. :) **Q: Does this clay get hard? Granddaughter wants to just make shapes and leave them out, plus bake as well. But, she does not want the clay to get hard.** A: No...not hard like when you bake them. But I did accidentally leave a chunk out for about a week and it got dry and incredibly brittle. It's the only thing that actually broke when I baked it. Not sure if that was because it was winter and very dry in the house or something else. Generally, I lay a bit of wax paper over anything I'm working on that will take more than one day. **Q: What else do you need to do a complete project?** A: I guess that 'need' depends on the person. Truthfully, all you need is an oven as projects made with sculpey need to be baked for a few minutes to be made completely hard. Of course there are a variety of things that you can buy to complement a sculpey purchase. If you want, you can buy lots of different clay tools, and different types of finishes--glossy sealers, metallic paints, etc. But with a hunk of sculpey, and an oven, you can create whole worlds if you'd like to. **Q: Does this clay stand up to outdoor weather if baked? Aldo if I paint it using acrylic paint as suggested do I need to bake it again before glazing?** A: I would not use this clay on an outdoor application without sealing it.
