You will have to line them up with the floor joists. **Q: is it screwed down?** A: Yes, each one is held down with 5 screws which are provided. **Q: Has anyone used pins too install instead of screws? Easy removal for access** A: No. I had to remove and adjust. It was easy enough to use an electric drill to remove screws and reinstall flooring. **Q: Somehow I misplaced the screws which came with these. What size and length are they?** A: They are just common drywall screws. I think 2 inches. The 4 panels in the pack worked perfectly for such a small area, and now our maintenance guys don't have to worry about a small misstep sending them through the ceiling. These are VERY sturdy with lots of screw points to secure them to the joists/beams.
