Don't Even Look At Another Two Way Radio Speaker Until You've Read About This One First
Baofeng BF-S112 Two Way Radio Speaker looks very much like the one shown here. Sound clarity good, experiencing no feedback whatsoever even when I talk close into mic to test it out. It has a sturdy clip on the back of it and holds firmly in place when attached to coat. Since it's a two pin adapter it should work well with alot of other Two Way Radios so if you don't have a Baofeng don't automatically think that just because it a Baofeng BF-S112 Two Way Radio Speaker that it won't work with any Two Way Radio you might already have or might be thinking about getting. I think for the cost it's a very good deal and a well put together product and I would recommend it to anyone thinking about buying a two way radio speaker. Satisfied with quality and it's performance.

Make a portable rig out of handheld cheap!
So far I really like this. Sound quality I rate as 5 star here, but that is relative to the price so basically 5 star for being dirt cheap and functional. Of course it isn't pro, it plugs into a $20 radio, but that considered there is nothing to pick on. The quality and feel are just fine. This was a fun and functional addition. Add a $20 antenna and a $20 battery replacer and you have a fairly solid mobile rig, considering the price of course.

Works well. Cord has a tight coil.
Purchased to add a remote mic to my Baofeng DMR-1701. Works great. The coil is very tight, so I've been exercising it to keep from having the radio so close when using the mic. The PTT button is crisp, the size fits my hand and the spring clip rotates to accommodate different positions. The price point is good.

This thing didn't pass muster as a component of my poor man's mobile. I'm posting this same review for all the other accessories of the build, but not for the radio which I love and reviewed separately. Here's the build: BaoFeng BF-F8HP Nagoya UT-308UV 22-Inch Magnetic Mount VHF/UHF Antenna SMA-Female for AnyTone, BaoFeng, and Yaesu BaoFeng BL-5 12V Battery Eliminator for BF-F8HP and UV-5R Radios Baofeng BF-S112 Two Way Radio Speaker Regarding each part. Love the radio. The antenna is good and comes nicely packaged with all the needed parts. What is really nice is that the antenna, base, and feed lines are all separate pieces. Mix and match however you want. The base magnet is strong. The antenna and feed lines work well. The long feed line is about 10' which is plenty for me. The 12V adapter is also OK. It's a tight fit, but does fit. It's also pretty cheap - so modify it as you will to change connectors, move the input line, etc. Personally, I think feeding the wire gets in the way because it enters at the bottom of the radio. Such is life. Maybe I'll modify this thing to use a dedicated circuit instead of a cigarette lighter socket - and put on a longer power cord while I'm at it. The speaker thing. -hate- This thing almost kills the build. The first time I contacted someone they reported weak audio. I pulled the hand set and spoke directly into the radio and my audio improved. Also, the wire coil is too short and stiff. Wayyyy to short and stiff. You end up pulling the radio around by the wire. You might as well just hold the radio. This speaker component is junk. But.... It turns out that wrapping the power cord of the 12V adapter and the antenna feed line is an OK solution. Anyways, this was a fun experiment but in the end it seems better to just use a handheld as a handheld and to get a real mobile for the car.

Terrible Mic - Good Sounding Speaker -lol!
I gave it three stars because of the price only. This mic is very inexpensive and should not be compared to a professional high quality mic. I plugged it into the Baofeng UV-5R radio and turned on an FM local radio station. The sound was full and clear. It has more low end fullness to it than the internal speaker on the radio, but the internal speaker on the radio seems like it goes a little bit louder due to the higher pitched frequencies that are inherent. The mic on the radio is ten times better, clearer and stronger. The hand-held remote mic sounds muffled and low when transmitting. I recommend doing the "mic hole mod" suggested by another user. Take apart the mic casing by removing the screws. (and separate seam-?) Set the parts aside and notate how they go back together. Drill a small hole into the front cover where the microphone element meets the plastic. This will allow more of your voice to hit the element directly and create a stronger, clearer mic signal, but be careful not to overdrive the mic into distortion by speaking too loud, and also be careful not to spit, drool or spill any liquids into the modified hole! The newer models make it very hard to separate the molded plastic mic housing. A great little cheap-o mic for a great little cheap-o radio! If you plan on listening to this for the FM radio, weather, scanning, etc, the two-way radio speaker mic is a nice cheap addition that will sound better than the internal speaker in the radio, but once again, keep in mind the mic is terrible for transmitting. I'm happy with mine for what it is. I had a contact with a guy using a local repeater and the cheap mic and it worked well enough plus the added convenience of being able to read the LCD screen or not having to hold the radio if you have a mobile or external antenna connected. hasta ahora solo lo he utilizado una vez pero cumplio el proposito (juego de combate) al parecer es durable ya que el cable es grueso, ya veremos. Para usos menos exigentes como radio amateur creo que es muy buen producto para la relacion precio calidad

The speaker microphone has surprisingly clear audio for both transmission and reception. The PTT (Push-to-Talk) switch functions reliably, and the unit is simple to use working right out of the box (plug and play).
