Escalon, 6 in 1 All Purpose Ground Tomatoes, 28 Ounce

These tomatoes taste really good. However, i will be looking for another source as I can't justify paying the price I did for 6 cans of tomatoes (regardless of how good they are). I bought them once because I was curious to see if they are as good as other reviews had claimed. After tasting them, I agree. But, the price is just too high. Hopefully I can find them or something comparable at a local grocery store.

Been buying these tomatoes for years. This batch seems to be more watery than usual. Hope this is not a permanent change. Still good flavor though.

This isn't available to me in the far northern reaches of the midwest. And it makes the best pasta gravy. Well worth the price.

Best canned tomatoes I have found, and also a favorite on the Cooking Forum at Houzz. I could buy them at a deli in Santa Monica, if only I could park anywhere near it, and so it is worth it to have them shipped. One of the reasons for the good flavor is that they do not add acetic acid as a preservative, and this would make the tomatoes taste less sweet.

Most of the reviews are correct. Rich in sweet tomato flavor. Add one can to five cans of good San Marzanos and you won't need tomato paste.

After you order them do yourself a favor and taste a spoonful or two straight from the can. You don't be disappointed.

My sister told me about these tomatoes and I ordered them and used them to make my homemade bolognese sauce. They are the most delicious tomatoes I've ever had!!!!!!
