Mine failed and is off by 4-6 degrees on average but could be off by more than 10 deg. at times which has killed my fishes. I was advised to buy a "thermal well" to protect the metal probe from premature failures. The replacement probes are 30% the cost of the whole unit and be ready to replace it an average of 1 to 1.5 years but as early as 5 months. I have a total of 6 units different models but same probes and 3 failures so far. Hope that helps. **Q: Can I make my deep freeze into a fridge if I plug this into it?** A: I've been running my deep freeze as a Keezer for well over a year now, utilizing this method with zero issues. It worked so well that I use a second one on an old fridge to be able to do temperature controlled fermentation. The cooling of the fridge and a homemade low power space heater keeps my fermentation within +/- 1 degree. Perfect for quality brews. **Q: Can I plug another heat belt into the cold outlet? I have one setup right now, would rather not buy another temp controller** A: You can not plug another heat source in the cold socket. When the set temp for heat is reached (plus the degrees of override you set) the cold plug is activated. Until then the cold plug it is dead (Off). You can use a multi outlet splitter for the heat plug side making sure their power requirements do not overload the units 10 amp capacity. You will not have any control of a second volume being heated. The one probe will just turn the heat outlet on and off and everything plugged in to it. It is either or, not both, allowing ten amps to be plugged into each as they will never be on simultaneously. **Q: Have a glass door cooler want to keep temp at 55 willthe probe wire conform to the door?** A: Depending on how many bends & how small the gap is. Probe wire is about 1/8" and flexible, sharp corners not recommended. Does cooler have another way to insert probe inside? Probe is 3/16 in diameter.
