Outback Trading - Unisex Wool Button-in Liner

I gave this liner to my husband for his duster. Here is his review: “This is a great addition to my duster! The liner buttons into the coat securely along the inside front flaps of the coat, and attaches securely to the lapels of the collar, making for something that looks like it’s part of the coat itself. Although I've only owned it for a few days, the quality and finish seems to be good. I've always found my duster to be a very warm coat, especially in wet and windy conditions where the length of the coat keeps my legs warm and dry. But the wool liner takes the coat to a whole different level of warm. After wearing the coat/liner on one recent cold day, I switched back to my standard winter parka the next day. What a difference! The parka was not nearly as warm, and I found myself wishing for the added insulation of the duster and wool liner. The only part of the combination that feels odd at first is that the liner is essentially a vest. It covers your torso, and down to your waist, but it does not extend down into the sleeves of the coat. It feels a bit strange when you first put it on, and feel the bare interior of the coat sleeves. But that doesn't substantially affect the overall warmth of the combination. Highly recommended!”

Why they do not make the wool vest to fit into the women's (rose) duster is beyond me. It fits the men's perfectly and will be very warm. Good quality.

Excellent addition to my Stockman Duster. I live in north-west Missouri, and the winter regularly produces temperatures in the single digits. I've recently had a chance to put this to the test when I left work, at midnight, and it was 12 degrees. This wool liner kept my core warm enough that my only real concern became my ears. I will say that this wool liner does shed at first, which was a very slight annoyance. However, the hairs were easily removed with a brush. After about a dozen evenings of use and regularly removing the excess hairs, it became noticeably minimal. So yes, it does shed, at first. But, it does not persistently do so. Finally, there is an opening in the left breast of this liner, to allow access to an inner pocket. On the Stockman duster specifically, the pocket is a zippered affair that goes straight up and down, not horizontal like the opening in the liner. I get the feeling this hemmed slit is designed to line up with an inside pocket of a different model of coat. For the price, this is a PERFECT addition to any of the Outback Trading coats that it will work with.

I generally like this item. But it’s missing a button and i don’t think it’s worth returning for that. Also - it sheds a LOT - so try washing it before wearing it. It is very warm.

This insert was exactly what I expected. It fits well, and is super-cozy. I will be wearing it today. Maybe a sleeved version should be available. I have not seen any shedding, yet. May be dry cleaning it first would be an option for those who have a shedding problem.

This liner makes all the difference in the world! It makes the duster much much warmer. Buttons in very easy. No instructions but definitely not hard to figure out. Very soft as well.

very warm it does take a while to get it in the mail. I gave it 3 stars because I figure I a paying a lot of money for this and therefore it should be complete. I had to sew on some of the buttons [no they were not included] it was frustrating

Excellent liner, very warm. Perfect fit into duster. Does shed, but being designed as work wear, not a huge issue. I work outside all day almost every day. Rain snow or shine. I would deff recommend to anyone who is buying to actually use their coat outside in the winter

The photo and ad say jacket. All I got was the liner. Very disappointed. That said, the line is nice, just needs a coat with it.
