LED lights typically have a couple thousand hours lifespan, typical ranges are 2,000hrs to 10,000 hrs. If same is thru for this unit, I did say it will be difficult or nearly impossible to burn it out **Q: Can the red light be turned on and off without cycling through the modes?** A: The button for the red-red/green light is on the left side of the housing.
