Is the 1" the id or od?

If my bar stool leg is 1 inch should I purchase the 1 inch or 1 1/8 inch cap?

If chair leg measures 1" outer diameter, you would need a leg tip cap with a 1" INNER diameter. This will fit snugly. Use Teflon tape if too loose.

Will this fit on the leg of a Weber Kettle?

Yes it will. I installed it today 04/13/2021 and it for perfectly! Don’t second guess it. I installed it on my 22” kettle.

Are they good for outdoor use?

Put a washer inside the cap for longer life in general. I would waterproof the opening of the cap so that moisture does not enter and get trapped inside the leg if using outdoors. Seal the metal thoroughly, then wrap Teflon tape, then silicone or hot glue to seal off the joint. This cap is NOT MEANT FOR WALKING CANES OR DEVICES. This cap is meant for chair legs and such. Walking canes need more traction at the end and more flatness to grip the ground. This might slip. Do not use it for any walker or cane.
