Does this work on sand

Hi Jennifer- The large Orange Screw works very well in sand. It has been tested along rivers and beaches on the east coast, west coast, Mexico and Hawaii. If the sand is very loose like a wind blown sand dune, the grip will be limited. In most situations where the sand is slightly compacted, they work great!

As this does not come with a carrying pouch, are there an suggestions on what to use? I don't want to sharp ends poking through anything in transit.

It comes with a plastic tube to store it in and prevents it from poking things.

Can a smaller dog that weighs 16 lbs use this? The one I have at home has a metal loop so you can attach the leash. What do you attach it too?

I use a metal D ring to clip my dog's leash to the screw.
