These are 2500 mah batteries, the same as AA batteries. Ignore the responses indicating these are equivalent to the Amazon 10000 mah ones. They are not. Skip these and buy a 10000 mah rechargeable brand like Amazon, Tenergy or EBL. You will get 4 times the energy of these for just a few dollars more. **Q: can these by charged by any charger** A: I would consult the owner's manual of a charger you have in mind. Some chargers may not be able to fit the extra size of D batteries. Amazon has a suggested charger made by Energizer that states it can charge 8 AA/AAA, 4 C/D, or 1 9V rechargeable batteries. **Q: is this 2 or 4 batteries? the count price seems to be 4 but description seems to be 2.** A: There is only two in the pack. I have two small children so we blow through batteries quickly. I purchased two- two packs of these and I have actually saved money since I bought them. Keep in mind you also have to purchase a charging station to recharge them. I am happy with my purchase and have only purchased rechargeable batteries ever since. **Q: Can these batteries be recharged with a solar panel?** A: Yes they can. These are the same type of battery that is used in solar yard decorations that charge during the daylight hours and light up all evening. This particular battery is only 2500 mAh which is the same as most AA rechargeable batteries (they almost always have this rating printed on them). Amazon does sell some D cell batteries that are 10,000 mAh capacity. So they will last much longer on a full charge. If you are charging these in series then any panel that puts out 4 to 5 volts in full sun should charge them just fine. Just remember that the larger the solar panel, the faster the charge time and the higher current rating it produces for charging. Lithium Ion batteries can also be charged by solar panel but they are susceptible to over-charging and being damaged (self destruct) so it isn't probably a good idea unless the solar panel is rather a low current output.
